Prokofiev Symphony’s No. 1 & No. 5
My selection for this Sunday is Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 1, the “Classical” and Symphony No. 5 by the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Stephen Gunzenhauser. The recording I am recommending is a budget CD from NAXOS. The performance I have was recorded in 1989 and I was not able to find the exact match on Amazon. There will be no trouble locating some excellent recordings.
