This morning I posted the “Top Fifteen” stocks of interest and the “Creme & Sour Lists” for this week. All that material is available with a Premium Content subscription. Also available to PC subscribers are the spreadsheets to seven passive portfolios that are constructed around the concept of asset allocation. Of these seven portfolios, six are outperforming the VTSMX benchmark. The portfolios range in age from nearly eight years old to a few months.
One big issue facing investors is what to do over the coming weeks and months. While some agreement should be worked out this weekend, there are uncertainties in the market. For example, what will happen to the financials when the shorting restriction is removed?
More and more we are hearing the phrase, “Privatize profits and socialize losses.” The very wealthy prefer no regulations so business can do what they want. If this means going off-shore for cheaper labor, so be it. Just let me do what I want so long as profits continue. But when we screw up, please come to our rescue. Oh, yes. Saddle those taxpayers we forgot about with the bill to cover for our greed.
