Asset Allocation Assistance: Spreadsheet Enhancement
Looking for Asset Allocation Assistance? Get in on the ground floor and watch the development of the latest enhancement to the Thomas/Lalla/Herr portfolio monitoring spreadsheet. The worksheet finds the difference between the current asset allocation percentage for each investment and determines how many shares are required to be purchased or sold so as to bring the portfolio into balance with the “recommendations” that emerge from the Quantext Portfolio Planning (QPP) software.
To put this enhanced spreadsheet to full use, one should be using the old spreadsheet and be following along with some of the sample portfolios that are presented over on the Premium Content side of this blog. Subscription rates are only $6.99 per month.
Thus far I am only working on the Scrappy Portfolio. I am finding this new worksheet is easiest to work with if all of the QPP recomended tickers have a market position and there is significant cash to play with for rebalancing. The beauty of this new worksheet is that it makes it much easier to know how many shares are required when it comes to rebalancing the portfolio. A short movie over on PC explains the process.
