The Many Moods of Christmas
The recommendation of Robert Shaw’s “The Many Moods of Christmas” should have been up on this blog several weeks ago so readers would have it available this holiday season. This TELARC recording by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra & Chorus is something special. The first cut includes three traditional Christmas songs and it is the last one, O Come, All Ye Faithful, that will blow off your socks. You will want a huge sound system to push this song to its limits.
The five-star recommendation on Amazon is right on target. And the price is right. This is one of my favorite CD’s of Christmas songs.

Just a reminder that it is not too late to enter your five top classical music recommendations to http://www.allclassical.org. The countdown begins the day after Christmas when we are treated to the Top 100 selections recommended by KBPS listeners. One can hear this music via the Web so give it a go.
